In addition to its downstream activities, the company also invests in upstream exploration and production activities. The company has interests in oil and gas fields in Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. Key Challenges

Inconsistent Branding and User Experience

The client’s various businesses and operations in different countries required the creation of multiple websites. However, due to the lack of uniformity, this resulted in inconsistent branding and user experience.

Lack of standardised data

Inconsistency in data management resulted in longer turnaround times for changes. This also led to a greater reliance on IT for data management due to the lack of standardised data.

Increased Costs in Maintenance, Development, and Branding

Ultimately, all of the factors mentioned above led to greater expenses for maintenance, development, and branding. To tackle this we needed to find solutions for all of these challenges.

Managing workflows across multiple regions and departments was a challenge due to the reliance on manual processes. The project required implementing an automated workflow system to streamline operations, reduce delays, and ensure consistency in content updates and approvals.

With the consolidation of websites, ensuring robust security measures became crucial. The challenge involved protecting sensitive data from cyber threats and unauthorized access. This required deploying advanced security protocols, continuous monitoring, and regular audits to safeguard business, supplier, and customer information.

Facilitating Web Presence and Enhancing Security

To ensure consistency in branding and user experience, multiple websites were consolidated onto a single platform using Liferay DXP. The platform’s security was strengthened with the implementation of Liferay DXP Cloud.

Personalization and Consistent experiences

Leveraging Liferay DXP’s 00TB functionalities, such as Content Management System, Multilingual Support, Integration Capability, Search, and other modules, helped to personalise and create consistent experiences.

Integration of map

Additionally, map integration was utilised to provide comprehensive information about business location and its presence.

Using Third-Party API Integration

Liferay’s efficient website performance enabled smooth operation even during a sudden surge in traffic. Additionally, the enhanced user experience and consistent branding optimised overall processes, leading to an increase in revenue.

Create Separate Module for Workflow Management

A dedicated module was developed within the CMS specifically for workflow management. This module automated the content creation, review, and approval processes, enabling efficient collaboration across departments and regions. This solution significantly improved operational efficiency and ensured consistent and timely content updates.

Using Third-Party API Integration

To enhance security, third-party API integrations were employed to incorporate advanced security features into the CMS. These APIs provided robust encryption, multi-factor authentication, and real-time threat detection and response capabilities. Leveraging these trusted third-party solutions ensured the protection of sensitive data and compliance with industry standards.
